Getting some junk done

Posted by LiLg - August 5th, 2009

I finished up the art for the Reincarnation comic, but I'm still waiting to get it up for sale online. Once I do that, I'll be sure to link it up so that everyone can go get a copy. It's about 10 panels shorter than I'd like it to be, but I have to put it to the side and get back to work on Reincarnation 3 (which will be more of a quest game then just a simple point and click game this go round.) Although, some portions will just be point and click due to the fact that most of the time the demon has to hide.

Other than that, I've been putting about 20 hours a week into another "defense" type game which has a great team putting a lot of hard work into it. Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

For anyone interested in film and what not, I recommend entering your local 48 Hour Film Fest. It's a fun experience where you only have 48 hours to make a 5 minute long movie. We did it last year for the first time and found out just how difficult it was. So, this year, we are a tad bit more prepared for the challenges ahead of us on August 14-16th.

Also, how does everyone feel about a single level, beat-em up game with a boss at the end? It may be my next project, but I want some thoughts on it.

I think that's all i wanted to blog bout, kittens.

It depends on how you approach the game. Is it going to be a side-scroller? Or perhaps more of an open-ended place where the screen moves with you. I'm getting a side-scroller vibe though. Not to say that I think it would be best, that is really up to you.

There is also the enemies. Will they have health bars, special moves, critical hits? How many different types? Can the character deal more damage using a certain attack type against an enemy?

How big is this single-level? How epic is the boss at the end? Will it require advanced tactical maneuvers? Will the boss' attacks be randomized or will they adapt to fit the situation? Can the boss realize how much of its health is left and fight either more aggressively or defensively?

Too much thinking and I don't make games. Well, I wish you the best of luck with whatever you do.

Please enjoy the remainder of your twenty-four hour span of time.

I feel good about it given your art talent. Though if it's something short and quick, it should maybe be used as some sort of commentary or satire. Keep us posted!

happy birthday

Thanks!
